If Meryl Streep’s mother, Mary, gave her one great gift, it was the ability to use her imagination. In that day, before electronic games, the Internet, smart phones and the myriad distractions that dull children’s wits today, Mrs. Streep practiced old-fashioned parenting.
What would your kids learn with a day outside or a special day with you away from the TV, outside looking at the sky, exploring, and using their imaginations? That kind of old-fashioned parenting should appeal to us all.
