Prayer Principles – In the Name

First, prayer should be made TO THE FATHER.

Second, those prayers should be presented IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

This one is a really liberating truth. We don’t come in our own name or righteousness, but Christ’s. How much confidence should that afford us when we approach our daddy in Heaven?

We come not with our own authority, nor do we rely upon our own power or holiness, but upon the covenant name we have been given, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We do not pray to Jesus, we pray through Jesus, using the weight and authority of His inimitable name!

“”And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you…” (John 16:23-24,26-27 NKJV)

Take this one statement as your meditation today. Just imagine what kind of boldness and how audacious your prayers will become as you get this truth down on the inside…

“whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.”

Sorry, listen to that again and take it in…

“whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.”

That is a “wow” statement with a capital “W” “O” “W” !!!!

So today, as you go about your business keep these words in mind,

“Whatever I ask my Father”

“in Jesus name”

“He will surely give me!”
